Think about what you do when you play follow the leader. In that game, the whole idea is to do exactly what the leader does. If you’re not paying attention, you’ll miss something and you won’t do what the leader’s doing.
In today’s reading, Jesus discusses the importance of following him. That’s not always an easy thing to do. If we’re not paying attention to Jesus, we often mess up – just like in the game – and not do what Jesus wants us to do. So how do we pay attention to Jesus?
We take time through prayer to listen and talk to God. We learn more about his love, through worshiping God, reading the Bible, and talking with others about what they know about God. Take some time this week to talk with someone like your family or your Sunday School teachers and shepherds about what it means to follow Jesus.
Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for showing me what you want me to do. Help me learn how to follow you.
